Hedge-Hoggers News Letter - April 2018

Welcome to our April Newsletter. The Offie at Seamer Fayre headquarters (the old butchery) is now well established, and has just undergone a makeover. We are licenced for bottle sales and we stock home produced straight ciders, fruit ciders and carry a selection of North Riding Brewery beers.

Opening hours are 5pm to 7pm on Friday evenings or whenever The Offie sign is out. If you require assistance (including pickup of your cider/juice quota) outside these hours please get in touch through the Hedgehoggers Fb page or phone Dan on 07508666344 or Elaine on 07976 361596, or email through this site.

Hedgehoggers will be on the road at various shows this summer, and we will keep you updated where we will be each month.

Hedgehoggers has now been producing cider for five years, and last season's pressing resulted in 10,000 litres of cider. Thank you so much everyone for bringing us your apples. We apologise to those we had to turn away last season, as we were trying to stay under our 7000 litre limit, but as you can see we failed. We have made the decision to keep expanding, so this year there should be no limit to the amount or type of apples you can bring in the autumn.

Our March 'returns weekend' was extremely busy but please get in touch if you have not yet received your cider/juice quota.

Events for this month are possibly a cider tasting night on the 27th - venue and details tbc.

If you are planning a charity event, fundraiser, wedding or party please remember that we have a full stocked bar for hire which can cater for indoor and outdoor events. We work in conjunction with Orchard Events, caterers and party animals, for all your festivities.

Out in the orchard, Spring is creeping in under the cover of mist, cold and damp. The apple trees are in bud and the new standard trees are planted. It never ceases to amaze us how new growth comes round again each year, despite the conditions, and we eagerly anticipate the blossom and the warm sun forecast.

Lambing and calving are in full swing on the farm, and amongst this season of mellow fruitfulness, Dan and Simone have a new baby - the most recent addition to the Hedgehogger team - Congratulations from all at HHHQ

Elaine.
